Bio of Charles P. Adams, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S.

gigis-photos-012Originally from Atlanta, Dr. Adams is an Honors Graduate of Emory College and received his medical degree from Emory Medical School in 1978.  Atfer attending Georgetown University’s Ophthalmology residency in Washington D.C., he obtained corneal specialty training at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Adams is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, has served as the Medical Director of the North Florida Lions Eye Bank for corneal transplantation surgery and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Adams received the Melvin Jones Fellow award from the Lions Club International Foundation for Dedicated Humanitarian Services.  He was also given the Spirit of Magnet Award through Baptist Health Systems in 2009.  The spirit of magnet is where the nursing staff recognizes physician’s contributions to the excellent medical care they provide.
